According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Pedro Argote, 49, is accused of shooting Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson, 52, in the victim’s driveway in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Thursday evening while the victim’s wife and son were present.

Sheriff Brian Albert said at a news conference on Friday that Wilkinson was presiding over Argote’s divorce proceedings. According to Albert, the shooting is thought to have been motivated by the fact that Argote’s ex was given custody during a hearing earlier in the day on Thursday.

The U.S. Marshals Service is also looking for Argote and is prepared to pay up to $10,000 in exchange for information that results in his capture. In a statement Friday night, the Marshals Service stated that Argote is currently “the target of an interstate manhunt.”
